Dear DeSh~Stoom user,
Please read the user manual carefully before first use and keep it for future reference.
Intended use
DeSh~Stoom is exclusively intended for baking products that require steam in ovens, combi-microwaves on oven setting, and grills or barbecues (gas and charcoal).
With regular use, DeSh~Stoom may show stains due to crumbs/residue from the products you bake. This is unavoidable with this natural product and does not affect the results.
Preparing DeSh~Stoom in an oven or combi-microwave on oven setting
Rinse with lukewarm water before using DeSh~Stoom for the first time. Dry thoroughly. DeSh~Stoom can now be placed anywhere in the oven, but placing it on the bottom of the oven gives the best results. Pre-heat the oven well, between 220°C and 250°C. Once the oven has reached the desired temperature, pre-heat for another 20/30 minutes (proper pre-heating) so that DeSh~Stoom can retain the temperature longer. Then turn the oven temperature back to the recommended baking temperature. The product to be baked can now be placed in the oven.
PLEASE NOTE! Pre-heat temperature is not the same as the baking temperature!
Fill DeSh~Stoom with cold, lukewarm, or hot water up to the raised DeSh edge. This depends on the actual temperature of your oven—which you measure with an oven thermometer—and how long you want to pre-heat.
Close the oven door and after a few seconds DeSh~Stoom will start producing steam. After about 4 to 5 minutes, DeSh~Stoom will have steamed dry.
For an even crispier result, leave the oven door open for the last 1 to 2 minutes.
Preparing DeSh~Stoom in a barbecue
Rinse with lukewarm water before using DeSh~Stoom for the first time. Dry thoroughly!
The steam tray can now be placed on the grill/griddle of the barbecue. Pre-heat the barbecue well, between 220°C and 250°C. Once the barbecue has reached the desired temperature, pre-heat for another 20/30 minutes (proper pre-heating) so that DeSh~Stoom can retain the temperature longer. Then turn the barbecue temperature back to or wait until it reaches the recommended baking temperature. The product to be baked can now be placed on the barbecue. If necessary, bake the product for a shorter time than the recommended baking time.
Try DeSh~Stoom a few times to “test run” it,
to find the “right” settings for your oven, combi-microwave, and barbecue
and to find the baking time that suits your personal taste.
Cleaning
PLEASE NOTE!
- Let DeSh~Stoom cool down completely before cleaning. There is a risk of burns!
- Wash only with lukewarm/warm water.
- Never use soap, dish soap, or chemical cleaners to wash DeSh~Stoom.
- DeSh~Stoom is not suitable for cleaning in the dishwasher.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Be careful not to accidentally touch the hot parts of the oven with your hand or forearm! Wear oven mitts or other suitable heat protection when using the oven.
DeSh~Stoom becomes very hot. So always be very careful with DeSh~Stoom!
Let it cool down!
Just leave DeSh~Stoom in the oven, combi-microwave, or barbecue. Do not remove DeSh~Stoom from the oven. Not even while wearing oven mitts. DeSh~Stoom gets so hot that the heat will pass through the oven mitts. After a few hours, DeSh~Stoom will have cooled down and can be removed from the oven. This is not necessary. DeSh~Stoom can always stay in the oven, combi-microwave, or barbecue, even when baking something else that doesn’t require steam.
Food safety
DeSh~Stoom has been tested and holds the inspection certificates for food-safe approved accessories:
