DeSh~Stoom turns any home oven into a professional steam oven. The unique material and design ensure that the bread gets the right amount of steam in a simple way, at the right moment. Moisture must be added at the start of the baking process, otherwise the bread won’t get a crispy crust. DeSh~Stoom starts producing steam after just a few seconds. After about 4 to 5 minutes, DeSh~Stoom has steamed dry. The result is delicious, high-quality homemade bread with a thin, crispy crust and a soft, airy interior.

No, those well-known unsafe and awkward heat-resistant containers made of terracotta, porcelain, glass, or baking tins filled with water are useless. The water you pour in doesn’t evaporate quickly because the material cools down fast when water is added, so it has little to no effect. It takes too long to start steaming, and then the steaming process lasts too long. Often, the red-hot container is removed from the oven after 10–20 minutes. This is unsafe and causes significant heat loss.

The well-known spray bottle leaves dents in the crust, and the bread ends up with a hard crust because the steam duration is too short. Opening the oven door (to use the spray bottle) also causes a lot of heat loss.
Ice cubes evaporate instantly and have no effect.
It is essential that moisture is added at the start of the baking process for about 4 to 5 minutes.

The makeshift solutions mentioned above don’t just damage the oven with all the negative consequences that follow (warping, rust, dents, and cracks in the bottom plate) or cause glass and porcelain containers to shatter; they also fall far short of the desired result. DeSh~Stoom maintains its temperature thanks to the material and pre-heating.

Yes, with regular use, DeSh~Stoom may develop stains due to crumbs/residue from the products you bake and/or hard water (tip for hard water: use bottled water). This is unavoidable with this natural product. It does not affect the results.

No, because thanks to the unique way DeSh~Stoom works, all the water evaporates.

Yes, it’s a fireproof, sturdy material and is heat-resistant up to 1,200°C. It can be left in the oven at all times.

A watering can with a long spout is the most convenient option.

Every oven is different, and occasionally it takes a little while for DeSh~Stoom to show the promised results. Please always contact me, and together we’ll find the best solution, because DeSh~Stoom works! I promise you that.

Hello, received the steam container yesterday. Baked 2 loaves and rolls today. I noticed that I don’t see any steam in the oven… is this normal? Even though I preheated the oven higher and for another 20 minutes before putting the bread in.
Our answer: “What temperature did you preheat the oven to? How long did you preheat it? Did you use cold, warm, or hot water? Can I or may I call you about this?”
Buyer’s answer:
Thanks for the quick reply. I preheated the oven to 230; once it reached temperature, I let it preheat for 20 minutes. Then set it to 200, put the bread in, and filled the container with cold water. I must say, we ate the bread and rolls this morning and they were great. Very crispy crust. The container was empty every time after baking. I did open the oven once to see if I could see steam because I couldn’t see it through the oven window. But unfortunately, I didn’t see any steam, yet the bread was still delicious. I checked YouTube afterwards and saw steam… hence my message. Thanks.
Hey. Thanks for your call. This week I followed your advice. I set the oven higher and preheated it longer. I boiled the water in the microwave first before putting it in the container. I immediately got a lot of steam. Baked bread and ciabatta. Super, super crispy crust and very soft. It’s a top product. Thank you. As promised, here are some photos.

This depends heavily on how hot your oven gets. Not every oven actually gets as hot as the temperature setting indicates; you can measure the real temperature with an oven thermometer. I would recommend starting with lukewarm/hot water. If it steams too much, use cold water next time. Try DeSh~Stoom a few times to ‘test it out’
and find the right water temperature for your oven. For quick steam, hot water is best. If preheating takes too long, you can preheat DeSh~Stoom in the microwave for 9 minutes at 750 watts or more. Then continue preheating it in the oven.
